Posljednja knjižara u Londonu jedna je predivna priča. To vam moram svakako napomenuti prije nego krenemo dublje u razradu tematike knjige.

Priča vas vodi u London u vrijeme Drugog svjetskog rata.

Isprva malena i skromna, a kasnije sve veća i jača.

Otkad sam dublje ušla u svijet drugih realnosti kroz razne naslove, mogu reći kako sam dosta toga otkrila i naučila.

The Last Bookshop in London is a wonderful story. I must definitely mention that to you before we go deeper into the elaboration of the book's subject matter. It is a beautiful story, which shows how even in the darkest times there is still light and hope for a better tomorrow. This light appears to the human eye in various forms...

The story takes you to London during World War II. You will find yourself on the streets of a city you once knew, which now give a completely different appearance of reality. You will observe those lost faces full of disbelief, fear and struggle for bare life. Every night will be filled with anticipation of the siren for the alarm and new destruction by German bombers. You will comfort your housemates and give them hope, which you don't feel yourself, just to give at least someone relief.

In the middle of all this, one small ray of sunshine will appear for you. At first it was small and modest, but later it got bigger and stronger. It will shine at first in the space of a small street in London, and later illuminate the entire city. That ray of sunshine embraced numerous gray faces and again, at least for a while, enabled them to freely put a smile on their faces...

This is the story of a good and selfless soul, a girl named Grace Bennett, who came to London in search of happiness. In a time of utter darkness and depression, she breathed new life into a small and forgotten bookstore. She gave the old owner, who was covered with years of oblivion and dust, a reason to smile again.

With the awakening of the bookstore, more and more people began to come and buy books. Through the refreshment of the bookshop and the aroused interest, they found hope and comfort at a time when patience was something that everyone aspired to, and at the same time felt the lack of it. Something that particularly impressed me on that journey was the display of pure kindness and gratitude, doing good deeds at a time when one did not expect them.

Since I delved deeper into the world of other realities through various titles, I can say that I have discovered and learned a lot. I am more aware of some things, but also wiser. And from every story I read, I try to extract something positive, some knowledge that can be useful to me in the future, but also to enrich my personality. In addition to the above, I try to gain an understanding of the events that took their place in history, to imagine what people were going through, how far we have progressed (or not) in the period up to now, and to understand where it all leads.

Through The Last Bookshop in London, I got the opportunity to acquire all of the above. At times the story was slow, but I understand why. At times it was fast and tense, and all with the aim of making it known exactly what the people of that time were experiencing and feeling. Of course, it's one thing to read about a difficult event, it's another to experience it, but getting the chance to witness at least one small segment of the story means a lot - especially to someone who will draw some lesson, knowledge or conclusion from the whole story.

I am aware that I cannot change the current state of the world, but that is why I can advise you to read this book. I can say that I found a bright spot. I found the light at the end of the tunnel and have hope for a better future. Because everything has to come to an end one day - as they say, when one door closes, the universe makes sure another one opens.

Do you agree? :)
